Steve Lonker and Rod Simmons both sent info about the upcoming Plant
Extinction Symposium.

And Rod said:

Good job by Botanical Society of Washington members and SI staff Robin
Everly, Paul Peterson, and Rob Soreng in helping with the Vascular Plant
Extinction in the Continental United States and Canada paper (see link
below)!

I thought you might be interested in an online symposium hosted by the New
York Botanical Gardens entitled "HERE TODAY, GONE FOREVER: PLANT EXTINCTION
NOW AND CONSERVATION STRATEGIES FOR TOMORROW". This symposium is free and
will be held on two Tuesdays: November 17 & 24, 11 a.m.– 12:30 p.m. EST.
Registration is free. See agenda through the link below.

It is very humbling to 'share the stage' with some true leaders in the field
of biodiversity conservation including: Thomas Lovejoy, Stuart Pimm, Reed
Noss, Maria Vorontsova, Matthew Pace, Nokwanda Makunda, and Barney Long.

I thought I’d also take a moment to share that the stylized and proofed
version of Vascular Plant Extinction in the Continental United States and
Canada is Early View on Conservation Biology’s site. This a free Open Access
PDF. https://conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/cobi.13621

Please share widely and thank you for considering,

Wes
