Change in Federal Status for the Washington, D.C. Area on
Tuesday, January 7, 2020, due to Winter Weather

 

In response to the potential impacts associated with
winter weather affecting the Washington, D.C. area this
afternoon, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has
changed the federal operating status in the Washington,
D.C. area on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 to:

 

STATUS: EARLY DEPARTURE - 4 HOURS STAGGERED EARLY RELEASE
- ALL EMPLOYEES MUST DEPART NO LATER THAN 1:00 PM

 

Employees of Federal offices in the Washington, DC area
are authorized for early departure. Employees should
depart 4 hours earlier than their normal departure time
and may request UNSCHEDULED LEAVE to depart prior to
their staggered departure time. All employees MUST DEPART
at no later than 1:00 pm at which time FEDERAL OFFICES
are CLOSED.

 

Essential/emergency operations staff are expected to
remain on duty.  Consult your supervisor if you have
questions regarding your status. 

 

Further instructions regarding time and attendance will
be sent via separate SI wide email.
