Dear NMNH,

As you may already know, Vicki Funk, Curator, Botany passed away
last month.  Jim Nix (her husband) is hosting a reception/memorial at
Ft. Myer’s Officers Club on the 16 Nov. (see below).  If you are
interested in going we would like you to RSVP by THURSDAY, 7th
NOVEMBER to me (kelloffc at si.edu) so that I can let Jim know.

Much to our sadness, my wife, Vicki, died on 20 Oct from her fight with
cancer.  In her honor, we are hosting a gathering at the Ft. Myer's
Officers Club, 1500-1800, 16 Nov.  You are invited to attend and pass
on to anyone else you think might be interested.  You are encouraged
to wear a Hawaiian shirt in her honor.  For ease of Base access, if
you don't have a military/CAC ID card, go to

Hatfield Gate on Washington Blvd at South 2nd St.
