[Bsw] Should DC area herbarium be merged into the main herbarium?

Vicki Funk  FUNKV at si.edu asked me to forward the following message:

"The Collections Committee of the Department of Botany, NMNH, Smithsonian
Institution, has made the recommendation that the DC & Vicinity Herbarium
be integrated into the main herbarium so there would no longer be a
separate herbarium for this area. Some of us think that is a mistake. It
you want to comment on this recommendation please email the Chair of the
Department and/or the Chairman of the Collections Committee. The Chair of
the department is not necessarily in favor of this so comments will be
important."
