Topic: Recent Explorations at the Botanical Frontier in the Pakaraima 
Mountains of western Guyana

This talk will examine a mountainous region of western Guyana that 
includes many table-top mountains or tepuis. It will feature the 2012 
Kamakusa Mtn. Expedition and a first look at some of its scientific 
findings.

      Meeting location: The Vertebrate Zoology Seminar Room WG33 (ground 
floor), West Wing of the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian 
Institution

     All are welcome. As usual, light refreshments will be served prior to 
and after the presentation. Contact Robin Everly (everlyr at si.edu) by 
Monday before the meeting to arrange for a badge for the upcoming meeting.

     Pre-meeting dinner: 5:30 P.M. at the Elephant & Castle Pub and 
Restaurant, 1201 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Washington. Phone 202-347-7707. 
The restaurant is diagonally across from the Old Post Office Pavilion at 
12th and Pennsylvania, a few blocks from the Museum, with Federal Triangle 
the nearest Metro station, and Metro Center also nearby.
