Next BSW meeting Tuesday, May 7 at 7 pm
Speaker: Mauricio Diazgranados, Post-Doctoral Researcher, Department of
Botany, Smithsonian Institution
Topic: Frailejones (Espeletiinae, Compositae) páramos and expeditions in
the northern Andes
Meeting location: In May in the Cathy Kerby Room (Room CE-340). After
that, the meetings will return to the Vertebrate Zoology Seminar Room WG33
(ground floor), Smithsonian Institution, West Wing of the National Museum
of Natural History, 10th St. and Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, DC.
Use the Constitution Avenue entrance; wait to be escorted up. All are
welcome. As usual, light refreshments will be served prior to and after

arrange for a badge for the March meeting.

Marion Lobstein gave me permission to make available online an article she
recently sent me about spring wildflowers. It's entitled: Background on
Spring Wildflowers and includes sections on Ecological Factors,
Photosynthesis, Assimilation, Pollination and Fruit and Seed Dispersal.
