Please join Larry Morse’s family, friends, and co-workers at the memorial
for Larry Morse.  The Remembrance celebrating the life of Larry Morse is
Tuesday, October 30 at the Native Plant Garden behind The Nature
Conservancy, in Arlington, VA. It will take place from 4:30-6:30 pm. Below
is the announcement for the remembrance.  If you are interested, RSVP by
October 23 to: danielle_sundstrom at natureserve.org.

Because Larry was such a big part of the BSW and so many knew him
throughout his career, we are hoping to have a few members speak about
Larry at the memorial.  If you are interested in speaking, please contact
Carol Spurrier at cspurri at blm.gov or (W) 202-912-7272 or (H) 703-356-1623.

for a Time of Remembrance celebrating the life of Dr. Larry E. Morse, former
chief botanist at NatureServe and a legend in plant conservation.

Larry enjoyed a nearly 30-year career in plant conservation that included
serving as the botanist for the MD Natural Heritage Program, leading to
roles as the Chief Botanist at The Nature Conservancy and continuing with
NatureServe until his retirement in 2006. He was a walking encyclopedia, not
only of information about plant identification and conservation, but also of
the cultural uses, historical relevance, and ecological contributions of
plants.

During this time, we will share stories and memories and learn about ways
                      that Larry’s influence lives on.
